Italian edition. Only copy printed on J. F. Head paper made in England in 1948. It includes an original watercolour painted by the author, intitled “ The Goggiam spa”.

A first edition, “Voyage to Tahmisat” is the chronicle of an adventurous journey into an exotic and legendary realm, out of time and desirable, narrated with a humorous and sublime language.

This edition is limited to 33 unique copies, all printed on different papers and illustrated with a different original watercolour painted by the author.

An edition of this kind is unprecedented in the international publishing scenery. In fact, “Voyage to Tahmisat” is a first edition typeset by hand in original 18th-century Caslon types; it is limited to 33 copies printed on 33 different high-quality papers from China, Japan, England, Germany, France, Italy, many of which are ancient and extremely rare; moreover, “Voyage to Tahmisat” is illustrated by original watercolors, different for each copy of the book.

Finally, this novel was printed on the Phoenix V platen press, the same one that in Dijon, at Maurice Darantière’s typographic studio, printed the first edition of James Joyce’s Ulysses.

It is a volume in the album format (cm19x15), of 60 pages typeset by hand in 16-point Caslon, engraved by William Caslon and cast in the original 18th-century matrices.

The volume is housed in a slipcase and a box, custom hand-made to an exact size, whose exteriors are covered with Ingres paper. The book title is letterpress-printed on the slipcase’s spine.
