Hippocrates (V-VI century BC) required his students to swear to respect their teachers, to teach medicine only to those who had sworn the same oath and to do that without reward, to visit the sick and treat them with the aim of healing and never using violence, to not prescribe deadly drugs even when requested, and to not divulge confidential information learned in the practice of their profession.
